In general most of the Asians are bad tippers. Why?
Is it cultural difference?
Is it Habit/Attitude?
Are they trying to save money?
Yes... it is bit difficult to predict.
In my personal experience, the 75% of Indians, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis are worst tippers. Initially i thought, its a cultural difference. Later i realized that's not the reason, because they are the one who utilize the customer satisfaction and consumer laws well.
I like to point out few things here.
1. They think waiters are slaves.
2. They return food after having half of the meal.
3. They waste food(buffet) for their kids and don't want to pay for the food.
4. They eat buffet and ask for boxes to take food.
5. They don't apologize or respect waiters, but they expect lots from them.
6. They share their dislikes about food/service in the web, but they don't tip/appreciate for the nice food.
I am not trying to criticise any one. i am just trying to share my experience. I always feel bad when my friends from other countries make fun of Asians about their tips and attitude.
I am happy about one good thing, at least Asians are united in this habit.
Will they tip at least in the future???
